CANOpenScope is a modern, open-source CANopen protocol analyzer that emphasizes unlimited message filtering. Unlike CANOpen Magic which limits you to 20 filters and costs $199/year, CANOpenScope offers unlimited filters in the free version.
CANOpenScope is also cross-platform (Windows, Linux, iOS) while CANOpen Magic only works on Windows. Both Free and Pro versions are available on GitHub.
Yes, CANOpenScope currently requires a PCAN-USB or compatible CAN interface hardware to communicate with CAN bus networks. The software supports all standard PCAN interfaces from Peak-System.
Make sure to install the PCAN drivers before running CANOpenScope.
The main difference is that the core components from Landwind are open source under the MIT license, whereas Tailwind UI is a paid product. Another difference is that Landwind relies on smaller and standalone components, whereas Tailwind UI offers sections of pages.
However, we actually recommend using both Landwind, Landwind Pro, and even Tailwind UI as there is no technical reason stopping you from using the best of two worlds.

Yes! CANOpenScope supports loading custom Electronic Data Sheet (EDS) files to decode device-specific PDOs and SDOs. You can import EDS files from your CANopen devices to get proper decoding of all messages.
The software comes with a library of common EDS files and you can add your own. Check the documentation for details on EDS file management.
